I hope you can get you self some Idés about my generator-construction! Klick here to see it in action too /Werner Just klick on the pictures that you want to enlarge!
This is the generator that I built in Canada! It´s made for an 2,7 liter engine that runs an electric generator at 18 Kwh
This is the Woodgasblender/mixer That I built for the unit! I builded it back home and then brought it over to Canada
Here starts the trip. Going highway E20 to Arlanda Stockholm
I took a pic of the plane that I flyed with to England
Inside of air Canadas plane
Some day after I ariwed! we went to a rodeo in Falkland BC
On my free time I did some Goldpanning!
We had to hire a welder, It runed at 220 volts 2 face! And I´m use to 380 3 face system! But it had to do! Thought it cind of hard to get that power as I´m use to! But I had it work allright! This is Lars This is David Lars helping out grinding the part of the hearth
first I messured every part up. And I startied with the straight heartcone Then the nozzle part. Messured up for 5 nozzlers drilled and welded tubes as nozzlers messured and cut in the right legnth.
In my construction I use a plate that is at least 10mm thick. as a hearth plate that is easy to change when it´s burned out.
Then it´s needed with a chamber for the primary air to get to the nozzlers (it´s welded on after the con part with nozzler ring and all is welded at the can) Just fitting it in
This gonna be the wood container, Were the hearth is mountied to the bottom f it!
I cut of the hole bottom of the can and used that for top of the generator. I cutting out the hatch hole and use the plate for coverhatch.
I had a need for a heating device so I made one (tortch) Runed with charecole and a blowing wacuum cleaner
Here is the wieu from the porch were I stayed Okanagen lake Vernin BC Beutyfull is´nt it.
This is the owen part with the ash hatch with spring hatch. Made the same way as the upper filling hatch but this has an other hookup handle that also is adjusteble.
This is the protection blowback valv On the picure it´s upsidedown though the generator is build this way!
The haches
The roster that is playsed around 40-50 mm fom the end of the cone And the shake system is solved by a big nut and bolt!. When the bolt is scrued in tight it´s airtight. just to lose up and shake the roster when needed, never have to open anything.
Here is the hearth and the nozzlercamber mountied here you can see the prymary air inlet where the walv is hangin.
Turned over! It is a rather big container on it but it´s a stationary unit so thats why! enught for servel of ours, I think over 8 atleast.
This is how it looks from the top thru the hatch! Here you can se the hearthplate. klick on the pic for enlarge it.
The type of coler I use is of Imbert / Hasselman etc type ! The gas goes upp in the midle tubes and town at the ones at the sides this way the most of the tubes ar used with mot afichensy. Water can for example never got stuck inside of it- and you can easy atach a electric fan to it. It´s made by first make 2 plates vith holes fiting for 1"tubing that are to be cut in exact same legth! then you fit every tube between the 2 plates and dot weld them first! When every tube is fit in. you weld everytube from the ends And its importent that you not weld the tube next to an other that just been welded! "jump around and weld one here and there intill all are done! so the structure of the cooler stay straight! In the under box there are marked on the outside at the picture here! there are 2 walls with a tube in between. it´s needed for the tube to go a litle down at the outgoing side! look at the pictures carfully and studie them!
To think of when you are making the hookup for the hatch is that it easy goes over the spring! it holds with 2 cut bolts made so you can scruw them with a flat scruwdriver! On the midle of the hactch -Drill a hole and welld a nut undrnegth Fit in and drill a hole in the spring and the holder for the spring(so the hatch allways get in the same spot! then it´s needed to hav a n holder futher back at the spring so it eint get hooked upp at the edge when you need to close it fast! Think of how to fit the closeup handle and weld the stpper for the handle at the end of the spring! it doesn´t matter so much about the heat from the welding it eint taking so much from the springability out! in the other end it works to cut a pice of tube and weld on to the spring!
The cyklone is made easyest by using a tube and cut it in first 2 pices! the conepart is easyes done by taking the area in the bottoms messure and split by 2 and mark this messure out at booth side straight from each side from the top! then cut avay the marked pices. Use a hammer to adjust the shape of the cone fit the 2 parts together -weld! grind the top and end of straight fit the wide part of the cone to the tube and fit a 2" tube in the other end that shud be conectie to a hatch for a bucket / container for the sot! The upper outgoing tube shud end underneght the ingoing tube. so the gas get a chans to start to spin before it whants out of the cyklone!
